The Christmas Toy Shop is a completely non-profit organization that specializes in giving kids Christmas toys when their parents may be unable to afford presents.
Originally established in 1921, the Christmas Toy Shop has been helping children in need for more than a century. The organization started with two ladies, Marion Speakman and Mrs. Anderson of Anderson Lumber, who collected children’s books and toys to take to the fire station so they could be distributed on Christmas Eve. In 1981, the shop outgrew its former location and moved to its current location on 16th Street North.
Each year the Toy Shop provides thousands of toys to kids in need, ages 0 to 12. It partners with more than 25 other organizations in the community, and more than 60 volunteers give their time to helping kids in need.
Registration to get toys is in-person only, and children are not allowed at registration. The registration dates are November 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15. It is limited and will close once it is full.
