Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Come one, come all Saturday to JHop’s second-annual Spring Fling.
Hosted by the Parent Teacher Student Association, visitors to Spring Fling can enjoy food trucks, student-run and local vendor booths, and games to play beginning at noon.
There will also be a stage featuring acts from JHop’s award-wining performing arts program. Theater will debut selections from their upcoming SpongeBob Squarepants musical. There will also be performances from the chorus and band magnets.
If all the dancing and singing were not enough, more acts were selected to perform by chorus teacher Ana Torres to add to the talent showcase. Seven acts were picked after auditions were held earlier this month.
Sixth-graders and best friends Ariana Pavelski and Mila Revis will perform a cover of the song Freaks by Surf Curse.
According to Revis, the Spring Fling is the perfect venue for kicking off her rock star dreams.
“It would be a really good opportunity especially since I’m trying to start my own band,” Revis said.
Spring Fling will be more than just food, fun and a talent showcase. It will have an art battle featuring notable local artists like Chad Mize, Johnny Vitale and Tracey Jones. These artists and more will compete against each other to create a masterpiece during the Spring Fling.
