Hey scholar, did you know you could cop prizes for your high test scores?
The “Aim High to Win Big Prizes” program allows scholars to enter a drawing for prizes if they improve their testing scores.
There are four categories: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Bronze and Silver winners can earn earphones, jewelry making kits, sliders, puzzles and little pouches. Art supplies, bracelets supplies, gloves, sport balls and a penny board are available to Gold winners.
Platinum scholars could win digital cameras, Apple Airtags, infinity cube lights, a Nintendo Switch Light, Legos, Ring cameras and an Xbox.
Program organizer Dominique Dudley said the incentives help celebrate “all the students.”
“If you make a one point gain, if you make a bucket gain, if you become proficient in or stay proficient you will get to enter a raffle to win an Xbox,” she said.
Eighth-grader Kalen Langmire said he’s seeing JHop teachers helping scholars get a better score on their F.A.S.T. and EOC tests.
“Teachers have been very patient with helping students and just trying their best to help us do what we need,” he said.
Some scholars say they are trying hard to get a good score for F.A.S.T. tests and setting goals for themselves.
“My goal is to get four or five on the F.A.S.T. test,” seventh-grader Londyn Douglass said.
