JHop has its very own junior ninja warrior: eighth-grader Jagger Plaxton.
Plaxton, 13, is a competitor in the World Ninja Warrior League’s Teen Division. He has been competing since 2019 and he trains about two to three times a week.
“Somedays it’s crazy, and other days, it’s super hard,” he said.
Sometimes Plaxton competes against other teams or younger competitors.
“It’s a very well-rounded sport,” he said.
The competitions are mainly indoors and have courses the competitors practiced on or had a similar course to practice for the week or two before the competition day.
The WNL hosts the World Championships from June 18 to June 23 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Ninja athletes from around the world will come and compete to claim season XI titles, and Plaxton will be one of them.
Plaxton said that he expects a challenge.
“The course itself won’t be hard but finding ways to do it as best as possible is the real challenge that’s part of it,” he said.
Jagger has won many local competitions and most recently appeared earlier this year in a match in Jacksonville.
