They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch, but that’s not true for JHop teachers and staff.
Recently, the school Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) treated all the them to a pizza lunch in a show of appreciation.
“We want to make sure all the staff know the parents appreciate them,” PTSA member Elizabeth Tews said.
Some staff members do not come in just to eat but to touch base with the parents that provide the lunches.
“I typically don’t eat but I always try to stop in and say hi to the parents and thank them,” sixth-grade Assistant Principal Kimberly Vongsyprasom said
The PTSA brings the teachers different types of food each month.
“We’ve done a Mexican [menu] before, we’ve done a soup and salad before and a potato bar,” PTSA member Carrie Plotnick said.
According to ESE teacher James Shumilak, his favorite things about the PTSA lunches are the food and seeing the parents.
“Not only is it really good food, but I get to see other people that are working hard to keep our school running well,” Shumilak said.
