After months without a teacher, some sixth and seventh grade scholars finally have a new math teacher.
Chenna Chireddy a 23-year-old teacher from Texas was hired to fill the position.
Mr. Chireddy – who prefers to be called Mr. C because it is easier for kids to pronounce – is originally from Dallas, Texas. He moved on Jan. 16. to Saint Petersburg.
Mr. C said his love for Florida and the beach was one reason he took the job.
“I always wanted to live in Florida and the beach and everything,” he said. “And also I love math, so this opportunity was hard to pass up.
Mr. C is teaching a seventh-grade accelerated math class which includes concepts like the Pythagorean theorem, rotations, dilations, reflections, and translations.
“I just really want to help students with math because I know that I saw some people struggling when I was a kid,” he said. “So I want to help the least amount of people have trouble with the subject as possible.”
JHop scholars report good things about Mr. C.
“He’s a good teacher and he’s very chill,” said sixth-grader Max Mahaz.
