Extended Learning Program, or ELP, is available for students who need academic help. ELP helps students succeed and build relationships.
At ELP, students can receive tutoring, get credit recovery, and receive assistance with concepts that are confusing. Students also receive support from teachers and meet with classmates for group projects. Letters were sent home to students and can be turned into the grade level office.
JHop science teacher Ivo Decarlis, said that ELP helps scholars get personalized instruction.
“ELP can give students more support and individualization than a 45-minute period,” Mr. Decarlis said. “ELP has a positive effect on teachers, and it lets them see their students succeed and differentiate the ways they teach concepts to their students.”
ELP meets Monday through Friday before school from 8 to 9:20 a.m., during lunch periods, and from 4:20 to 5:20 p.m. after school. The locations, time, and day are dependent on the teacher and class.
