Each year, JHop’s Support Staff of the Year is selected based on how they help around the campus and the positive impact they have on students. The goal is to select a staff member that goes above and beyond to keep JHop a safe and nurturing school environment.
This year’s JHop Support Staff of the Year is Bruce Green.
Mr. Green, who has been at JHop for more than 25 years, said his favorite part of helping JHop is building strong relationships with students and staff. He added that everyone at JHop succeeds in a safe environment.
“[I am] creating a safe environment where our students and staff can flourish to do the things they need to do so that we all meet our common goal,” Mr. Green said.
Principal Britnee Scott said that she and her team look for a staff member that supports everyone. Ms. Scott added that Mr. Green was chosen because his leadership skills stood out.
“I think that’s what ranked most that his colleagues saw him as an amazing leader to represent John Hopkins Middle School,” she said. “I’m very excited to have Green as a leader representing the ‘Gem of the South.’”
Mr. Green said that he was surprised and very thankful for the recognition.
“I’m just doing what I do,” he said.
