PEAK is a video game that allows players to experience mountain climbing – without the risks that can happen in real life.
Developed by Aggro Crab and Landfall, PEAK was first released this summer. It quickly became popular, reaching an all-time high of roughly 170,000 players on the game at one time August 17th.
PEAK might just be a mountain climbing game, but it can be incredibly funny when playing with friends. There are plenty of ways to help or sabotage your friends with many different tools. PEAK also sets up things on each mountain that can throw you off the mountain or blow you up like dynamite or explosive bushes set across the mountains.
The game has six different biomes which each have different environmental hazards. Each biome has plenty of ways to kill you and plenty of different routes you can take to reach the peak, with some being a dead end and requiring you to go back and take a different path. Friends also can assist you on your way to the peak with tools like a rope spool which allows your friend to put one down and help you climb up.
PEAK also has mod support allowing way more possibilities for the game to be even more fun and more dangerous. Some mods can make some biomes like the Mesa to do more burn damage to you when standing in the sun or make the Alpines colder with constant snowstorms forcing you to bring a lantern. There are even mods who can make the entire game dark, forcing you to bring a small lantern that barely lets you see where you’re going.
The developers added cool secrets like a non-player character to stare at you and hide behind rocks even in offline mode.
PEAK is one of the best multi-player games with the developers still making updates on the game for even more fun to come. PEAK is an awesome game, especially with friends that allows for a much more fun experience for everyone.
