Hey scholars, if you love science fiction books, then Project Hail Mary is the book for you.
Imagine waking up in a coma on a spaceship, both your friends are dead, and you’re millions of miles away from home. That’s Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.
Project Hail Mary follows Ryland Grace, an astronaut and a teacher who wakes up in a coma and doesn’t know why he is on a random spaceship millions of miles from Earth.
He encounters an alien, that is from another planet that was being eaten by microscopic organisms. They become friends and save their home worlds. But there are challenges along the way including fighting strong external forces, overcoming communication difficulties, and adapting to different atmospheres.
Project Hail Mary is a great book, even if you are not that big into the science fiction. It is one of those books where the characters are really likable and you can relate to them easily.
The book has a lot of science terms, so you will expand your knowledge on them.
Weir also is the author of other well-known books like Artemis, and The Martian, which was made into a 2015 movie starring Matt Damon.
Project Hail Mary also has been adapted into a movie and is anticipated to come out next March. The book won the Goodreads Choice Award for science fiction, the Audie Award for science fiction, and the Hugo Award for best science fiction novel of the year.
