If you’re wearing a costume and eating candy this Halloween, you’re not alone.
Americans spend billions of dollars to celebrate the holiday, and retailers expect that number to increase this year.
Despite tariffs and layoffs, Halloween fun remains a priority for Americans.
A survey published last month by the National Retail Association shows that consumers will spend about $13 billion on Halloween, up from $11 billion the year before.
That breaks the previous record in 2023 of $12 billion.
JHop scholar Kendall Anderson is one of many who are getting in on the fun.
Anderson, an 8th grader, says he’s wearing a scary clown costume.
The cost?
“I’m spending about $160,” he said.
