For the first time in a long time, the infamous McRib sandwich will be available all across the United States at the same time. So I decided to take one for the team and try it for you guys.

First, some basic information. The McRib was introduced to the McDonald’s menu in 1981 and after a less than stellar   was taken off in 1985. Since then, the McRib has returned to the menu several times. Mainly between 2005 and 2019, it has been available for limited times, making it kind of trendy to go get it while you can.

The McRib is made up of a pork  patty, Homestyle Hoagie Roll,  , pickles and slivered onions.

So, I tried it. I have to say I was a little nervous ahead of time, but I cleared my mind and stayed objective for the purposes of this review.

First, the texture: the texture was a little weird. It tasted like a soft, ground up chicken, or a soggy waffle.

Second, the taste: it was very saucy! The BBQ sauce was thick and sweet. As  far as BBQ sauces go, it was fine. The challenge for me was the quantity of sauce. I believe it was way too much!

Third, smell: it didn’t really smell like anything. This is odd, because most of McDonalds’ items have a distinct smell.

I can tell you it looks nothing like the picture. In addition, it had a strange aftertaste, almost like a filmy coating lingered in my mouth.

In the end, I will never eat this again. I hope you know I did it for you guys! But, many people love the McRib. I recommend going out and trying it for yourself. Thank you, McDonald’s for another interesting experience!
