A new season of the Netflix show Wednesday debuted in September and here’s my review:
First, let’s set the scene: Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) and her little brother Pugsley (Issac Ordonez) have been kicked out of schools all over the world. They were kicked out from the last school because Wednesday put live piranhas into the school’s swimming pool after Pugsley experienced being bullied by a group of boys.
Their parents seemingly have found the perfect boarding school for them: Nevermore Academy, a place where they can explore and meet more outcasts.
On the first day in Nevermore Academy, Wednesday meets her new roommate; Enid Sinclair (played by Emma Myers) Enid welcomes Wednesday with open arms and colors.
Over the time at school Enid and Wednesday become friends, even though they are complete opposites. Enid is tasked with showing Wednesday around the school, which brings them closer despite Wednesday attempts to push Enid away.
Wednesday meets Tyler Galpin (played by Hunter Doohan) when trying to escape therapy and thinks this might be her first crush.
Things turn sinister when Rowan Laslow (played by Calum Ross) attempts to kill Wednesday because he believes she’s a danger to the school.
Wednesday meets a new mystery, she believes she has a mysterious stalker, and the murders of the crows are the focus of a new mystery.
Wednesday has found Donovan Galpin (Jamie McShane) dead, as she looked at his body, she thinks it’s the same that killed Carl Bradbury (James Payton), connecting the death to the crows, they both worked together.
In season 1, Wednesday sees the crows as a type of sign for death or connecting them to an attack.
The new season of Wednesday is overrall a good watch if you like suspense and horror, the show has a lot of action.
‘I enjoyed it because it’s always something happening and t’s not something you’ll get bored watching. My favorite part of the series is how Wednesday is always asking questions and always up to find new information to help uncover the mystery, even though she knows it’s risky.
