Trojans looking for a way to express their creativity while boosting critical thinking skills and making new friends may want to consider joining JHop’s Dungeons and Dragons club.
Dungeons and Dragons – commonly known as D & D – is for fans of fantasy roleplay. The club’s sponsors are social studies teacher Cameron Lemery and behavioral specialist Adam Klaskow, who is better known as “Mr. Adam.”
The club meets Tuesdays after school in room 5-113 and has about 20 members.
In the game, players create characters to go on an adventurous journey of magic, fighting, fate, and much more.
Experience is not required to join the club. The club offers lessons for new players where they learn the basics.
Players with experience, however, can sign up to be a dungeon master or start campaigns. A dungeon master is the person responsible for organizing the game and story.
Club member Lily Wells said she wanted to be one “to make worlds,” and to challenge her friends.
Cyrus Meissner said he likes playing D & D and “thought it would be fun to join this year.”
All the materials required are provided. Members just need to bring their creativity.
