Think you can’t do Thanksgiving without turkey? Not true! Vegans do it every year.
Vegans are people don’t eat any animal products or food that comes from animals. Some who follow the lifestyle more extremely give up honey and don’t wear leather or wool.
Vegans usually swap out meat and animal products in the usual recipes, and there are simple substitutions anyone can do.
Some examples include using ground beyond burger instead of ground beef. Plant butter is substituted for dairy butter. Soy milk is used in baking and cashew cream in cooking. Some try to do a veggie meat turkey, but most do an entirely different centerpiece, usually served in a pumpkin.
A vegan Thanksgiving might include veganized egg rolls, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes with plant butter, and pumpkin pie.
