Marshall Fire Destroys Thousands of Homes
Boulder County fire now known as “Marshall Fire.”
In Boulder County, Colorado, a fire started on Dec. 30 at noon. The fire, now named the Marshall Fire, went on for more than 5 days and destroyed more than just homes. The fire burned about 6,000
acres in less than a
day (24hs). A total of 991 houses and structures have been burned from the fire. Days later officials say that more than 1,000 homes have been destroyed and 149 have been damaged. Human remains have also been found near the path of the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A houseguest that had seen the fire start believes that the fire had started in a shed on another neighbor’s property. It is said to believe that this will be investigated. The fire’s damage is between $819 million and $1.6 billion worth, just homes alone.
