John Hopkins’s incoming sixth graders and their families got a chance to get more detailed information about their new school at a recent Expo Night.
Hundreds first gathered in the cafeteria to hear Ms. V, the sixth-grade assistant principal, brief them on all things JHop including the dress code and behavior expectations.
The crowds then made their way to the gym where en route they were greeted by a DJ blasting music in the courtyard.
In the gym, families could visit tables to learn about community partnerships and program such as theater, journalism, dance, and AVID.
Clubs such as STEM, 5000 Role Models, and the Comic Book Club had displays to attract potential members.
Journalism scholars interviewed incoming students in a mock newsroom.
Families walked away with answers to many of their questions about the upcoming school year.
