The Pinellas County School Board approved a proposal to make up 50 hours of class time that scholars missed because of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Scholars will now go to classes on Jan. 6 and Feb. 17, which were previously non-school days for scholars. May 29, which is the last day of school, will now be a full day instead of an early-release day. Also, first semester exams have been canceled, except in specific circumstances. In addition, high school graduations will happen at the end of May instead of in the middle of the month.
According to the School Board, the changes were made to ensure that scholars meet state requirements for instructional time.
