The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading to the NFC playoffs after defeating the Carolina Panthers 9-0 on Sunday. That win clinched the NFC South Division title. The Bucs take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium in the Wild Card round. These teams met in the postseason in 2022. Tampa Bay won 31-15 with Tom Brady at quarterback.
The Bucs offense struggled against the Panthers and did not score a touchdown. The defense, however, did an amazing job as it shut down the Panthers’ offense. But keep in mind, back in 2018, now-Bucs QB Baker Mayfield led the Cleveland Browns to their first playoff win over in a quarter of a century.
The Eagles started the season at 10-1. In the last six games, they won only one game and ended the season 11-6. Don’t forget, the Eagles won the NFC championship last year and went to the Super Bowl. The team is known for the controversial “tush push,” a play where at team sends the offensive line to the one-yard line and the running back and fullback push the quarterback either into the end zone for a touchdown or to get a first down.
If the Bucs win, they take on the San Francisco 49ers. Monday night’s game against the Eagles stream on ESPN, ABC and NFL+.
